Have Your Say on the Draft Strategic & Community Plan 2023-2033
Council is required under the Local Government Act to review its Strategic & Community Plan within 2 years of election.
Council engaged Wendy Campana to undertake the review which commenced in July 2023 with a series of meetings with the CEO and adoption of a draft Engagement Plan by Council at its August meeting.
Consultation involved:
*Two surveys distributed in early September:
*Workshops with the community in Carrieton and Orroroo, Businesses and Year 7 – 12 students at the Orroroo Area School.
The issues arising from each of these workshops and the survey were prepared in a range of summary reports provided to the Council prior to its briefing session on 27 September. This briefing session considered the feedback from the survey and workshops and discussed a range of issues for consideration.
A draft Strategic & Community Plan 2023-2033 was prepared by the CEO and the Consultant and a further briefing session of Council was held on 11 October to consider this draft Plan and discuss amendments for consideration.

Consultation is now open on the Draft Strategic & Community Plan. The community is requested to provide feedback via email / written submission to the Council on council@orroroo.sa.gov.au by 5pm Friday 17 November 2023.
A report regarding the feedback received on the Draft Plan will be prepared for consideration at the 22nd November meeting, where the Council will be asked to adopt its 2023-2033 Strategic & Community Plan.
