Elected Member Allowances
In line with Section 76 of the Local Government Act 1999 a Council member is entitled to an allowance as determined by the independent Remuneration Tribunal of South Australia.
The Remuneration Tribunal Determination sets the annual allowance for all Councillors, as well as sitting fees and travel time allowances where applicable.
All allowances must be adjusted in accordance with Section 76(9) of the Local Government Act, on the first, second and third anniversaries of a period election to reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
Council member allowances are adjusted each year in November (in line with the election cycle).
