Information or Briefing Sessions

Legislatively Council must ensure that gatherings of Elected Members arranged by the Council, either by the CEO or by the Elected Council, are advertised. Information or Briefing Sessions, where appropriate, provide a valuable opportunity to enhance the decision-making processes by providing opportunities for Council Members to become better informed on issues and seek further clarification.

Information or Briefing Sessions are held on an as needs basis..

These sessions are open to the public with the exception of confidential items, which will be closed to the public. Community members are welcome to attend the open sessions, and observe proceedings as a member of the gallery. Council will notify the public when these  information briefing sessions occur and what topics will be discussed by placement of notice on Council's noticeboard and on the website. No decisions are made at these sessions, and thus no minutes taken. Any decisions will be made at a formal Council meeting.
