Orroroo Carrieton to Farewell CEO
The District Council of Orroroo Carrieton CEO Paul Simpson has given notice of his resignation.
After two and a half years with Orroroo Carrieton, Paul submitted his resignation to Council after accepting another CEO opportunity in South Australia.
Mayor Grant Chapman said Council had received Mr Simpson’s resignation, and are supportive of Paul advancing his career and importantly getting closer to his family.
“Paul has made some excellent achievements for the Orroroo Carrieton community in his time with Council and I congratulate Paul on a very productive term. He has overseen planning and delivery of some really progressive long term projects for Council. His passion and determination around advocacy on behalf of the district and region on priority social issues such as Childcare has been very pleasing”.
“On behalf of the Councillors, I thank him for his service and wish him every success with his new role”, Mayor Chapman said.
Mr Simpson said he will reflect on his time with Council fondly and is grateful for the opportunity of being the CEO in such a vibrant community. “This small district, as far as population continues to deliver in spades and the townships and communities are truly a beacon of what small rural towns can be”.
“The Orroroo Carrieton district is such a unique place and I’ve been fortunate to work with the hardworking staff, Councillors and community here. The district is full of hard working families and individuals, this will ultimately ensure the sustainability of the district”.
“I am very thankful for the people who have supported me in my role and the Council team will continue to deliver outstanding service and value for the community as it does now,” said Mr Simpson.
Council will engage an executive recruitment consultant and will begin the search for a new CEO immediately.
