Coronavirus (COVID-19) Public Facilities Notice

Published 25th March 2020

The District Council of Orroroo Carrieton is committed to the safety and peace of mind of our community and our staff in the unprecedented times COVID-19 has brought upon us.

Council’s focus is on minimising the risk of spread of COVID-19. In adapting to the measures, and the guidelines placed by the Australian and South Australian Governments, Council has been assessing those facilities, services and practices which pose risk of potential harm to the community, elected members and staff.

Council has today determined some changes in our operations which are necessary to help keep our community safe. From 12 noon Thursday 26th March, we will be restricting our customer service to telephone, email and website or by arrangement should a face-to-face service be required.

Most importantly, we are still here for you! You can contact Council by phone on 08 8658 1260, by email council@orroroo.sa.gov.au , online at www.orroroo.sa.gov.au or on our Facebook page.

There is no change to our works program or our essential service delivery across the Orroroo Carrieton District at this stage.

Council also wishes to advise that further to the announcement by the Prime Minister on Tuesday 24th March, the Community Library will be limited to a borrow online service only. Community members are still able to borrow from the normal range of items from the Library through this online service, however will be unable to access the library as an open community facility.

We understand that these types of measures may prove challenging for some members of our community. If you have specific concerns regarding the changes please contact the Council office.

Council will endeavour to keep the community informed of the ever changing situation, via our website www.orroroo.sa.gov.au and our Facebook page.
