Parks & Gardens

Parks & Gardens

The District Council of Orroroo Carrieton are enthusiastic about providing our community with a range of parks and gardens for both relaxation and physical activity.

Orroroo Lions Park
In conjunction with the Orroroo & District Lions Clubs we provide a small park with BBQ's, shelter and toilets over looking large gum trees and a small duck pond. The park is situated in Orroroo along the Pekina Creek, and in the middle of a 18 hole Golf course.

Orroroo Main Street Development
The Orroroo Main Street Development program is to enhance the appearance of our small but very vibrant town.

This program has been running for many years, and is to be completed in 2007.

Orroroo Town Oval
This year Council has invested thousands of dollars into the revitalisation of our town oval. We have procured professional advise, in which we are using to eradicate bugs and disease to enhance the grass coverage on our oval.

Carrieton Playground
The Carrieton Progress Association and the Council have provided the Carrieton Community with a small playground near the Carrieton Swimming Pool, in the Main Street.

Future Enhancements
Council is in the process of designing a new playground for the Orroroo Recreational Grounds to be placed near the Tennis/Netball Courts.

Council is also investigating the design of a skate park to be also placed in the Orroroo Recreational Grounds area.

Tidy Towns
Council has been involved in KESAB Tidy Towns project for many years and have won various awards in both the Orroroo & Carrieton Communities. Last years results can be found on the KESAB website: http://www.kesab.asn.au/tidytowns/index.htm

All of our parks and gardens are free of charge, we just ask that they are left in a clean & tidy state.
